All We Want Is A Simple Golf Swing

A simple golf swing! What a novel idea! How many of you want a golf swing you can easily repeat for 18 holes, without a lot of stress going on in your brain? No checklist of 15 thoughts you go through before every shot. Just step up, go through your simple preshot routine and execute a near perfect golf shot.

The Basics

Your stance, grip and posture dictate your outcome! If these are not in place, you will never hit a good golf shot! Even the tour players work on these weekly. If they see the need and importance, so should you.

Your stance (and ball position) are critical to the direction the ball will, and how it will react off the clubface. Your stance can also be connected to your alignment to your intended target. If you are aiming slightly to the left or right of target, you will most likely have sidespin on your ball, causing either a slice or a hook.

Your grip dictates how your clubface will contact the ball. A poor grip is the cause of many mishits. What you might think is a good grip, may be far from optimal. again, the pros check their grip all the time. Once you get a solid grip, you will be able to make a swing that's consistent.

Your posture will either inhibit or enhance your golf swing. Poor posture is one of the main culprits in the older golfer. For example, a rounded upper back inhibits your body's ability to fully rotate on the backswing, causing compensations to occur. These compensations, create swing faults. Fix your posture, and your compensations will disappear!

The simple swing

Once you've accomplished the basics, then swing motion is next. This involves take-away, downswing and follow through. With your fundamentals of the basics down, you will have a much better chance at making a repetitive golf swing. I'm an avid golfer, who has taken many lessons, read dozens of golf instruction books, and watch the golf channel regularly, but I am not a certified teacher to tell you the components of your actual golf swing.

All you need is a simple golf swing dvd that will provide you with an easy-to-understand way to make a repeatable golf swing!

Nutrition and Golf

players are hitting the ball further than ever and there seems to be no limit to the distance that balls travel these days.

The likes of Bubba Watson and john Daly are making the old 240 yard drive look like a wedge from a perfect lie.

Yes, technology makes for more distance. The golf ball just travels further end extensive research into dimple patterns and ball construction has the inevitable result of more distance.

Manufacturers have changed the lofts on sets of clubs and sell that off as extra distance. Why? Because distance sells like nothing else! Everybody, even the tour pros want an extra ten yards.

The impact on golf courses and course design is enormous. Courses are being lengthened, the rough is longer and tougher, and greens are super fast and not receptive at all. Just watch the majors!

So what is the next big thing in golf? What is going to distinguish the individual from the pack? Can the local club golfer benefit from this as well? They do make up the bulk of sales anyway!

Chances are that it will be the diet. Yes, THE diet. Gary player was most probably the first tour player who seriously worked out in a gym. These days mobile gyms are following the tour.

Then came technology and everybody jumped on the bandwagon to maintain a portion of this lucrative market. The positive side to that is that it makes it easier for the average player to start end to enjoy the game more with more forgiving clubs and some extra distance.

That is why the next big thing in golf just might be a proper, balanced diet. The demands on physical fitness and mental stamina on the major tours is increasing by the day. Physical training and fitness can only be successful when combined with a well-managed diet. We also know that 95% if the reasons for visits to the doctor can be related to what we eat - need I say more?

Now that you have revisited your membership at the local health club and spent your earnings on the latest technology, have a serious look at what you eat, and DO not forget to drink 1 to 2 liters of water every day!

The benefits of a proper diet and exercise with sufficient water are just too much to go into now. This just might be the next big thing in golf and life in general.

To your health!

The gym phase is a given, technology is advancing rapidly, and the diet will make a difference in the demands of the professional golf circuits.

Halo 3 Could Put XBox in Front of the Console Wars

Everywhere you turn, the news of xbox 360's Halo 3 release is out there. The game is garnering such attention because the franchise has been so successful and this is the latest and greatest. Halo 3's release is one of the biggest video game events to date. part of the reason for this is the coverage the game is receiving. You don't have to be a gamer to run across Halo 3 everywhere you turn. Many news programs are constantly running stories about this new game.

The original Halo game came out with the launch of the original xbox, and it has been a popular gaming franchise ever since. Expert gamers claim that it is the best first person shooter franchise in gaming history. These fans call themselves "Halo Nation" which is to Halo what "Trekkies" is to Star Trek. Halo Nation members camped out for the release of the game, hoping to be the first to get their hands on Halo 3.

There was so much attention surrounding this release that stores like EB Games held release day parties at midnight so that customers would not have to wait to receive the game until normal opening hours. With such devoted fans, microsoft pulled in a cool 170 million dollars on the very first day!

Predictions have microsoft making about 560 million dollars from Halo 3! This is not bad considering they spent only 55 million dollars to design the game. They may even collect some money from those buying the xbox 360 console just to play the game. The timing is perfect with the holiday season right around the corner. Many children and teens will have this on their wish-list for sure!

Still not sure what Halo is? The franchise is based on a setting in the future where people must battle against aliens. The weapons are all futuristic and very cool! You play as Master Chief Petty Officer Spartan-117. Master Chief has all the tools he needs to battle the aliens. The game is very "pretty" and well done as microsoft had top employees developing the game for over 3 years. You can expect the world to be massive and full of interactivity. This definitely isn't a game they threw together just to keep the franchise going. They seem very committed to producing a top of the line game for Halo fans.

microsoft needed this boost, as the nintendo Wii is still the top selling console. We'll have to see what happens with the battle of the consoles this holiday season.

Disney Cruise - Bahamas

Our Anniversary vacation started on Sunday with a surprise to my husband of a trip to Orlando, Florida, where we stayed for 4 nights at walt Disneys Beach Club Resort. We reluctantly packed our bags on Wednesday night for pickup and transport to the cruise ship on Thursday morning. Since we had rented a car, we drove back to the airport to return it, and took the motorcoach from there for the 45 minute ride to Port Canaveral, arriving just before noon. A special video plays during the trip with highlights about the ship and all the activities you can expect once onboard.

Our trip included a stay at walt Disney Resort, so we were already checked-in for the cruise, and our WDW resort room key was also our boarding pass and stateroom key on the ship, eliminating the need to check in at the port; we were among the first to arrive onboard. Your stateroom key also allows you to make purchases onboard without having to carry any cash.

We each had a day bag with the essentials we would need upon boarding, and after stopping for a pre-boarding photo at the gangplank, we made our way on to the disney Wonder. The staterooms would not be ready to occupy for several more hours, but we were directed to one of the restaurants where a sumptuous buffet awaited us. Mountains of Shrimp, carved beef, every kind of salad imaginable, decadent deserts, and festive tropical drinks were just a few of the offerings. We then toured the pool deck, and found some comfy lounge chairs to soak up some more sun, and even played a little ping-pong.

When the staterooms were ready, we found our luggage had already been delivered and settled in. A list of the daily activities is available in each room, and one of the television stations has information about on-board entertainment. We had pre-booked a special dinner at Palos, an adults only dining experience, as part of a specially purchased package though normally you would have to make those reservations as soon as you board. We also had a spa treatment booked for the following day, and again, you would normally book that upon arrival. A life raft drill is held, then its on to the Sail Away party, and finally departure from the port in the late afternoon.

disney Characters are on hand, and there are ample photo opportunities for your family. Ships photographers are available at every occasion, and photos can be viewed that evening and purchased if desired. Photo packages are available and allow you to select the best of the shots from your trip.

The unique dining experience rotates between 3 dining rooms for each night, and your waitstaff travels with you each night. The first night we enjoyed Animators Palate, the next night was Palos, and the third night was at Tritons.

The first night sailing takes you to Nassau in the Bahamas, where you can spend the entire day as you choose, departing around 7:00 p.m. -- be sure to allow plenty of time to re-board! There are so many on-shore excursions to choose from, the hard part is deciding which to choose. We selected the Thriller Power boat tour that reaches up to 60 mph and tours Nassau Harbor, Paradise Island, and highlights nearby private islands. This thrilling morning tour is a great way to start the day, and leaves plenty of time to explore Nassau in the afternoon on your own. We walked around the shops in Nassau then headed to Paradise Island and Atlantis Resort, where we toured the grounds, scoped out the casino, bought a few trinkets, then took a cab back to the ship.

This was also our spa day, and we enjoyed a facial (for me) and both had a relaxing massage, then on to the steam room. Although the on-board gym was well equipped, we never had the time to enjoy those facilities.

There are plenty of activities on-board to keep you entertained even while in port. This was our 6th day of perfect weather -high 70's, sunny, and clear skies. Every minute was filled with plenty of activity, and we also had plenty of relaxation time. Even though there were nearly 1,000 children on board, we never felt over-run by kids, and thoroughly enjoyed the cruise. Kids have their own private deck on board, and activities designed to keep them entertained throughout the cruise.

There were nightclubs, bingo games, movies, character appearances, deck parties, live shows, and more than you could possibly fit into each day. Whatever your desires, be it a romantic honeymoon cruise, romantic anniversary trip like ours, or a family getaway, youll find it all onboard the disney Wonder.

This second night onboard was our night at Palos, and we enjoyed the quiet adults only dining capped off with a special chocolate souffl. The service is particularly attentive here, and the meals are superb. We had purchased a wine package upon boarding, and the wine selection was especially paired with the meals we ordered. Theyll even re-cork a bottle for you, if you dont finish one during the meal.

We set sail that evening for Disneys private island, Castaway Cay, where unfortunately the weather Saturday morning turned windy and rainy, and most of the day was spent on-board the ship. Ever attentive to the needs of the guests, the crew kept everyone on-board fed, active, and happy throughout the day. When the weather cleared some in the afternoon, we headed on-shore and enjoyed a leisurely walk around the island and along the sandy shores. Barbecue lunch was available, but we opted for room service in our stateroom onboard instead. This was to be our final night on-board and we were rotated into the more formal Tritons for dinner, and a special formal portrait was available beforehand. The meals are lavish, and youll never leave the table hungry! Each night you can select your appetizer, entre, and desert from the menu provided, so you always get exactly what youre hungry for.

The disney Wonder is meticulously maintained to Disneys normal high standards, and the service on-board met or exceeded every expectation you could have. The ship is a delight, beautifully appointment, with gorgeous teak decking, those special disney touches, and again because it was early December decorated for Christmas.

We reluctantly packed our bags for the final time, in preparation to depart the ship early the next morning. Sunday dawned sunny and warm as we head to our assigned breakfast seating, where you eat in the same restaurant as the final night, then immediately disembark at Port Canaveral. A 45 minute motorcoach trip back to Orlando International Airport completes your journey, with disney cartoons playing to pass the time.

One final day remains on our Central Florida vacation in Part 3.
